Mana Flats
As you stand looking onto the Mana Flats, the dry and vast expanse stretches out before you as far as the eye can see. The scorching sun beats down on the desolate landscape, creating a sense of desolation and loneliness. You wonder how this place got its name, for there seems to be nothing even remotely magical about it on first glance.
Turning back to face the direction you came from, you see the river quickly disappearing into the distance. The contrast between the life-giving waters and the barren wasteland is stark, making you appreciate the importance of the river even more.
As you contemplate whether to continue into the flats or turn back, a gust of hot wind blows past you, carrying with it grains of sand that sting your eyes. Realizing that continuing on may not be either opportune nor wise, you decide to retrace your steps and head back before you lose your way in the desert ahead.
Travel along the River Styx to locations and shards further downriver.
